How to Send Us Your QuickBooks Accountant's Copy

If you are using QuickBooks version 2018 - 2021:

  1. Click File, Send Company File, Accountant's Copy, Client Activities, Send to Accountant.
  2. Set the Dividing Date as 12/31/20.
  3. Enter my email address, your name, and email address where indicated
  4. Use Rebecca11$ (it is case sensitive, so type it just as I put it here) as the file transfer password.
  5. Click Send.
  6. You will get a message saying that QuickBooks must close all windows to create the accountant's copy. Click OK.
  7. QuickBooks will now create and encrypt the Accountant's Copy and upload it to their servers using a secure connection.

If you are using QuickBooks version 2017 or earlier:

  1. Click File, Send Company File, Accountant's Copy, Client Activities, Save File. At the next screen, click Create Accountant's Copy.
  2. Choose Accountant's Copy and click Next.
  3. Set the Dividing Date as 12/31/20.
  4. You will get a message saying that QuickBooks must close all windows to create the accountant's copy. Click OK.
  5. QuickBooks will now ask you where you want to save the accountant's copy. Choose where you want to save it on your computer and click Save. Make a note of where you saved it so that you can find it to send it to me.
  6. Upload the accountant's copy to your secure portal here on my website. You can log in to your portal from the main page of the website.

How to Import Our File Changes into Your Company's QuickBooks File

  1. You will receive an email titled Accountant's Changes available.
  2. In your QuickBooks company file, click File, Send Company File, Accountant's Copy, Import Accountant's  Changes from Web.
  3. Click Incorporate Accountant's Changes.
  4. The file is encrypted and sent over a secure connection. It can only be imported into your company file, so no one else can read it.
